seattle weekend

just a short weekend to seattle and my wandering feet got excited again. i can’t wait to explore this part of the world now that i live in the states. i need more time please!

it was awesome hanging out with friends from home. lotsa laughters and chaotic fun but that’s not for the post here. :) miss you girls already! was super easy taking bolt bus from downtown portland. after 3 hours of music and facebook-ing, i arrived with my backpack at downtown seattle. i had wanted to take the train (heard of the scenic journey) initially but given the limited time i have, bus is the best way to go. with train, i would have to travel in the morning and arrive at noon. so i took the 7.30pm bus, arrived 10.30pm and ready to rock the town on a friday night!

seattle reminds me of portland with its proximity to the mountains and of san francisco with its hilly roads, a little less grand without the golden gate bridge and ferry building but still a enjoyable place to explore by foot. i have to say tho, san fran is still my first love – i knew i love you before i met you. and portland, my home for now, is growing special in my heart. of course, i was only in seattle for 2 days, too short to give it a fair chance.

thanks adam for bringing me to melrose market in capitol hill – a converted industrial warehouse that houses a butchery, restaurant, sandwich bar, liquor shop and some little boutiques. the freshly made sandwich at homegrown was so delicious. i only cared to take photo of the sandwich after i ate half of it. too good! will definitely come back for more and explore capitol hill next time. until then…

  1. A fantastic post…you were in my neighborhood (get my daily veggies/seafood at Pike Place Market) and then nothing like a walk/run/relaxin’ along the waterfront park :-) You’ve got the west coast figured out: SF, Portland, Seattle, Vancouver…all great cities. Cheers!

    1. thanks! and you are in my hood. well, kinda. amazing photos you have too! enjoy asia… :)

      1. Incredible thunder/lightening storms the past few days in HK, pretty cool :-)
